Ennis Care Center was notified on May 7, 2020 that one of our staff members that works at another unrelated facility tested positive for COVID-19 at the other facility in which they work. Due to privacy laws, we cannot disclose any additional information about the staff member or the facility in which they tested positive for COVID-19. We currently have no COVID-19 positive cases in any other staff or residents at Ennis Care Center. The staff member that tested positive for COVID-19 is no longer working at Ennis Care Center, but since the staff member did work at Ennis Care Center within the last two weeks, we are proactively taking the followings actions to protect our residents, staff, and community:
➢ All residents, families, staff, and vendors will be notified by 5:00pm today. ➢ All residents and staff are being tested for COVID-19. ➢ All staff have been given appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (“PPE”). ➢ Our certified Infection Control Preventionist has re-educated and updated all staff and residents on appropriate infection control and containment procedures. ➢ We are performing a full-scale decontamination of the entire facility through a third-party infection control company, including an electrostatic spray and a polymer bio-shield that prevents viruses from adhering to hard surfaces for up to 90 days. ➢ We have notified, and are working in conjunction with, the appropriate Federal, State, and Local health authorities.
These actions are in addition to our current protocols already in place, which meet or exceed current recommended protocols from the CDC, CMS, and State/Local health authorities.
The health and safety of our residents and staff remains our highest priority. We are doing everything possible to ensure that we prevent and contain COVID-19 within our facility; including staying in close communication with Federal, State and Local health authorities to make certain we are taking all appropriate actions.

I haven’t really slept since hearing about this news. Transparency has always been of high value at Ennis Care Center. I struggled telling my sister, once I heard of this, so I can only assume that panic was something they tried to avoid.
The safety of my mom, the resident’s, and the staff is of utmost importance to me. Everyone at the facility is like family to me. I have been praying, before and after this occurrence for the facility. I pray that no one else has to deal with this virus, and that everyone takes it seriously. If any decision is made that puts all parties involved in jeopardy, then that must be dealt with swiftly.
Almost two month’s into this Pandemic, and Ennis Care Center has been doing a phenomenal job. Please keep it that way. Everyone that has a family member there, wants to see them again. As well as all who work there, that leave their family at home; wish to see their family once more when they get up in the morning.❤️ Praying for all.
